Councillor Abdul Bashar

Hello, I am Abdul Bashar, known as Bashar.  I am married with a daughter.

I lived in Hove and went to Blatchington Mill School.  I studied Business in Hotel Catering and Sociology at Brighton College. 

In 1998 I moved to Haywards Heath to start my own business.  I’ve always been involved with local voluntary work and a member of a Small Business Association.

I’m one of the founders (in 2008) and trustee of the Haywards Heath mosque.  I’ve been honoured to serve as Chairman, Treasurer, and currently Secretary.

After twenty years of running my business, in 2017 I decided to semi retire and be more involved in community matters.

I’m a passionate person and like new challenges.  On 5^th May I was elected as a District Councillor for Lucastes and Bolnore ward and Town Councillor for Boltro ward.
