Observing a Council or Committee Meeting: All meetings continue to be livestreamed on the Council’s YouTube page. In response to the continuing public health restrictions, there will be limited public access to observe meetings in person. Admission is by ticket only (subject to availability), bookable by 4pm the day prior to the meeting via: committees@midsussex.gov.uk.

Please note that at certain Council and Committee meetings, public speaking is permitted and specific registration rules apply in each case.

Information about Planning Committee

To deal with planning applications and other planning matters from across the district as set out in Part 3 of the Constitution.

Public Speaking at Planning and District Planning Committees: Those wishing to speak, including Ward Members, need to register with Democratic Services between 10am and 1pm three working days prior to the meeting. Following registration, any members of the public with a right to speak will be briefed on how they make their contribution. Speakers must send a copy of their proposed remarks via email to: committees@midsussex.gov.uk by 1pm on the day prior to the meeting.

 

During the meeting, when invited to do so by the Chairman, the speaker may make their statement orally to the committee. If the speaker chooses not to attend the meeting, or is unable to do so, their statement may be read out to the meeting by the Chairman, an appointed Ward Member or any non-planning officer present.
