Councillor Rodney Jackson

I have lived in Hurstpierpoint for 55 years.

I have a Natural Sciences Degree from Cambridge University.

I am now retired from employment but have worked as a Chemistry Teacher/Head of Department for 24 years and an HM Inspector of Health and Safety(Chemicals Division) for 18 years.

I was elected to Mid-Sussex District Council in May 2019 and have served on the District Planning Committee and Scrutiny Committee for Leader, Deputy Leader, Housing and Customer Services for 4 years.

I became a District Councillor to serve the residents of Mid-Sussex and make this area a good place to live.

I have been a member of Hurstpierpoint and Sayers Parish Council continuously for 32 years.

For 26 years I have been Scout Leader/Group Scout Leader of the 1st Hurstpierpoint Scout Group now retired but still a Member of the Mid-Sussex Scouts.

I am a member of the Mid Sussex Association of Local Councils, having previously been its Chairman as well as Chairman of West Sussex Association of Local Councils ant the West Sussex representative on the National Association of Local Council's Assembly.
