Councillor Neville Walker

I was born in Nottinghamshire, but educated at Alfreton High School in Derbyshire. I started my working life with the Ministry of Works in London and subsequently left them to join the Commercial Union where I remained until I retired in 1991.

I moved to Sussex with my family in 1973 and after my children had all gone off to University, I thought I would like to put something back into the Community, becoming a Worth Parish Councillor in 2001. I was honoured to be Chairman of Amenities and subsequently for 5 years I was Chairman of the Council.

I became a District Councillor in 2011 where I found the experience gained during my working life invaluable in adapting to Council business, particularly when I was made a Scrutiny Chairman in 2014.
