02/10/2020 - Self Build Register Review & Proposed Changes ref: 336    Recommendations Approved

This report seeks to set out how Mid Sussex has met legislative requirements regarding Self-Build; to advise on the planning implications that arise from the Self-Build legislation; and to recommend changes to the operation of the Self-Build and Custom Build Register (the Register) to ensure that it is robust.

Decision:

The Cabinet Member for Housing and Planning authorised the following amendments to the management and maintenance of the Self-Build Register:

 

a)    That all applicants are asked to re-register to ensure that the information held is accurate and up to date

b)    That evidence be required to confirm their current local connection

c)    That an initial fee of £50 is required from all applicants wishing to join the register to cover admin costs

d)    That each year those on the Register who wish to remain are required to re-register annually and pay a renewal fee of £25

e)    That applicants are required to list in priority order up to 10 Parishes in which they wish to build

f)     That MSDC continues not to apply a solvency test as part of the registration requirements

02/10/2020 - Release of S106 Formal Sport Contributions - Fairfield Recreation Ground, Burgess Hill ref: 335    Recommendations Approved

Approval is sought to release S106 Formal Sport contributions to match fund the construction of a petanque terrain at Fairfield Recreation Ground.

The Cabinet Member for Environment and Service Delivery authorised the release of £17,000.00 from formal sport contributions arising from the development at Land on the Eastern Side of Manor Road (10/01898/FUL – P35/716) to fund the construction of a petanque terrain at Fairfield Recreation Ground.
