19/03/2019 - Parking Concession for the Mid Sussex Marathon - East Grinstead ref: 307    Recommendations Approved

The Mid Sussex Marathon will be held over the Bank Holiday weekend 4 - 6 May 2019. The East Grinstead event is held on the Saturday when parking charges apply, whilst the other events held in Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill take place on days where car parking is free all day in the District Council’s car parks.

The concession is offered to participants of the East Grinstead event in the form of an approved voucher to encourage patronage of town centre after the event, which will support the town centre economy.

The approved vouchers will be administered by the Town Council and race organisers.

Whilst there will be a minimal loss of pay and display income by offering this concession, providing an opportunity to support the towns economy is considered to be priority.
