Election of Chairman.

Minutes:

Councillor Henwood nominated Councillor Marsh as Chairman of the Licensing Sub-Committee A. There were no other nominations and the Committee agreed.

2.

Appointment of Vice Chairman.

Minutes:

Councillor Marsh nominated Councillor Henwood as Vice Chairman of the Licensing Sub-Committee A and the Committee agreed.

3.

To note Substitutes in Accordance with Council Procedure Rule 4 - Substitutes at Meetings of Committees etc.

To receive apologies for absence.

Minutes:

Apologies were received from Councillor Mockford.

5.

To receive Declarations of Interests from Members in respect of any matter on the agenda.

None.

6.

To consider whether to exclude the Press and Public from the meeting during consideration of the following items in accordance with Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972 on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the said Act.

Minutes:

The public and press be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the

following items on the grounds they involve the likely disclosure of exempt

information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12 (A) of the

Local Government Act 1972.

 

The Panel went into a closed session at 2.05pm.

7.

To be agreed by general affirmation the Minutes of the previous meeting held on 27 February 2023.

Minutes:

 

The Minutes of the meeting of the Sub-Committee held on 27 February 2023 were

approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

8.

Determination of Application for Issue of a Private Hire Driver Licence.

Minutes:

RESOLVED

 

The Chairman explained that the Sub-Committee considered Mr F to be a fit and proper person and they would allow his application to proceed. However, this was followed with a caveat that Mr F maintains his existing high standards and those of Mid Sussex District Council. The Chairman congratulated Mr F and wished him all the best for the future. The recommendations and relevant information would be provided by the Licensing Officers and the Solicitor.
